Bett Awards 2024 Finalists
Student Safeguarding Ed-Tech Company The Student Voice

Student safeguarding company shortlisted for the ‘Wellbeing Digital Wellness & Safeguarding Resources’ category of the Bett Awards 2024

The Bett Awards are a celebration of the inspiring creativity and innovation that can be found throughout technology for education, in association with BESA. The Student Voice has been shortlisted from a large number of entries for the category ‘Wellbeing Digital Wellness & Safeguarding Resources’, alongside tools and resources from other respected individuals and organisations working within the education and ed-tech sector, including The BBC, The British Heart Foundation and CPOMS. The next stage will see The Student Voice and other finalists’ resources assessed by an expert panel of judges.

We work in partnership with schools, colleges, and academies, enhancing real-time safeguarding provision through the use of technology. The Student Voice contextual safeguarding tool is an all-through (5-18), child-friendly and led experience that removes barriers for young people to report serious issues to their schools and supports schools early-intervention work. It is assisting school safeguarding teams in understanding where extra-familial harm happens to their students and enacting KCSIE guidance to seek the voice of the child and respond to it in all aspects of their work.

Everyone deserves a safe and inclusive learning environment. The tool goes beyond reporting forms, providing a child-centred and interactive reporting experience for young people across UK independent, international, and multi-academy trust schools. Our award-winning tool is trusted by students, building genuine engagement and trust, and is featured on Durham University’s Contextual Safeguarding Network.

This is a true pinch-me moment! Thank you Bett Global for selecting us as finalists. The world has changed immeasurably. We understand that young people’s concerns are changing and evolving along with society, which is why we are proud to continually develop our platform to provide opportunities for young people to share their experiences in their online world, at school, in their communities, and at home. We are very proud of the work achieved with schools, colleges and academies, assisting them in producing better outcomes for young people.

We want to give a HUGE thank you to our schools, who are enhancing real-time safeguarding provision and creating positive learning opportunities for young people to take into adulthood.

Safe communities safeguard futures.”

Stephen Willoughby, CEO & Co-Founder of The Student Voice.

Their final verdicts will be unveiled on 24th January 2024 at the annual Bett Awards event, held at The Brewery, London. You can see the full shortlist for the Awards on the Bett Awards website.
